Fixing wrong equipment information

AI extraction from nameplate photos is accurate most of the time, but worn stickers, bad lighting, or unusual nameplate layouts can cause errors. Every field is editable — here's how to fix them.

Tapping to edit a field

On the writeup screen, tap any field in the equipment block to edit it. The field becomes an input — type the correct value and tap elsewhere or press Enter to save. Changes save immediately, no Save button needed.

Common extraction errors

Serial number: The most common mistake. Characters like 0 and O, 1 and I, 8 and B are frequently confused. Always double-check the serial against the physical unit before sharing the writeup.

Model number: Sometimes picks up a part number or certification marking instead of the model. Check that it matches what's on the nameplate exactly.

Make: Usually correct, but may abbreviate (e.g., "Carrier" vs "Carrier Corporation"). Edit to match your preference.

Manufacture date: Decoded from the serial number when possible. Accuracy varies by manufacturer — Carrier, Trane, and Lennox are generally reliable; older or less common brands may be wrong. If the date matters, verify it independently.

What does the confidence level mean?

Each equipment block has a confidence level the AI assigned:

A low confidence warning appears below the equipment block when confidence is low.

What if equipment is missing entirely?

If no nameplate was found in your photos, the equipment block won't appear. You can still include the model and serial in a future voice note, or add them manually by tapping Regenerate with instructions like "The condenser is a Carrier 24ACC636A003, serial 2514E12345."
